2. From your Associate Minister of Religious Education

I’ll be away in July, attending a week-long summer religious education institute, and taking vacation time. Then I’ll be back in August and September, making sure religious education programs are up and running before I start a sabbatical in October.

I hope your family finds time to relax this summer, and I look forward to seeing you in August!

See you soon,
Dan Harper

4. Sept. religious education conference

Save the date! “Pot of Gold,” the annual religious education conference for northern California Unitarian Universalists, will take place on Sat., Sept. 30, in Oakland.

The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Mark Morrison-Reed. In his keynote address, titled “The Ignored, the Naive, and the Innocent”, Dr. Morrison-Reed will discuss different ways racism and white supremacy impact all of our children. Dr. Morrison-Reed says, “Today is an opportunity to focus on our children of color and have a conversation we don’t often have. How do we support them as they navigate a multicultural world which while often seeming benign can feel unwelcoming and at times can be dangerous?”

In addition, there will be lots of workshops aimed at religious education volunteers. UUCPA will pay your registration fee if you plan to volunteer in religious education this year. More info and online registration here:
